White Butter Milk Cake
Ingredients
2 C. white sugar
2 unbeaten egg whites
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 C. margarine
2 3/4 C. cake flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 C. buttermilk
Cooking Instructions
Cream together sugar, margarine and egg whites. In another bowl, sift together 2 or 3 times the cake flour and salt. Then combine buttermilk, soda and vanilla separately. Add dry and liquid mixtures about 1/3 at a time. Pour into two 9 inch pans or a 13 x 9 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
