Ingredients

1/2 C. butter
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. sweet milk
3 egg whites
2 C. flour, sifted
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Lemon juice to taste
4 drops red food coloring
1/2 C. raisins

Cooking Instructions

Take a little more than 1/2 of the mixture and to it add 1 tsp. liquid cochineal (modern: few drops of red food color) and 1/2 C. raisins. Put the red part in the center and bake. Cover with a frosting colored green with spinach (suggested: green food color).
