Viennese Plum Cake
Ingredients
1/2 C. butter
1/2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
15 Italian plums, pitted and halved
Sugar Mixture:
1/2 C. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and 1/2 C. sugar together. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend salt, flour and baking powder. Combine flour mixture in with the creamed mixture. Butter and flour an 8 x 8-inch baking pan. Spread dough out evenly. Place plum halves, skin side down, on the batter. Sprinkle sugar topping over the plums. Dot with butter. Bake for 45 minutes.
