Vermicelli
Ingredients
2 Tbsp. margarine
6 oz. vermicelli noodles, broken into small pieces
1 lb. ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 small onions, thin sliced
1 green pepper, finely chopped
4 stalks celery, thin sliced
1 C. whole kernel corn
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. chili powder
30 oz. can tomatoes
3/4 C. water
8 oz. American cheese slices
Cooking Instructions
Melt margarine in electric fry-pan at 300º. Saute dry vermicelli until lightly browned, stirring occasionally. Add beef and cook, stirring, until meat loses its red color. Stir in next 8 ingredients. Add tomatoes and water. Stir gently. Set temperature control to 240º. Simmer, covered, for 25 minutes. Grate cheese and sprinkle over the top and cook for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
