Vegetarian Beans
Ingredients
2 1/2 C. dry beans
1/4 C. rice
1/4 C. barley
9 C. water
1 med. onion, chopped
3/4 C. brown sugar
3/4 C. catsup
2 Tbsp. bacos
2 Tbsp. vinegar
2 Tbsp. molasses
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard
Grated cheese
Cooking Instructions
Place beans, rice, barley and water in crockpot. Use a mixture of as many types of dry beans as you have available. Cook until all beans are soft. Soybeans and garbanzos take longer than other beans. About 6 to 8 hours on high. Add all other ingredients except grated cheese. Mix. Cook on high 1/2 to 1 hour longer. Serve hot, topped with your favorite grated cheese Colby or processed cheese are excellent.
