Swedish Apple Cake
Ingredients
1/2 C. shortening
1 C. sugar
2 eggs; beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
3 C. apples; peeled, chopped
1/2 C. nuts
Topping
3 Tbsp. butter; melted
3 Tbsp. flour
1 C. brown sugar
Cooking Instructions
Heat oven to 350. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, salt, flour, spices and soda. Fold in apples and nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake for 25 minutes. While this is baking, mix together topping ingredients. Spread over hot cake at once. Return to oven and bake 15 minutes more.
