Ingredients

3/4 C. sugar
1/4 C. soft shortening
1 egg
1/2 C. milk
1 1/2 C. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
STREUSEL MIXTURE:
1/2 C. brown sugar, packed
2 Tbsp. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 C. chopped nuts

Cooking Instructions

Mix sugar, shortening and egg. Stir in 1/2 cup milk. Sift together and stir in 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. STREUSEL MIXTURE: Combine all ingredients. Spread half of batter in a greased and floured 9 inch square pan. Sprinkle with half the streusel mix. Add the remaining batter and sprinkle remaining streusel over top. Bake for 25 to 35 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
