Shoyu Coffee Chicken
Ingredients
5 pounds chicken, cut into pieces
2/3 C. shoyu soy sauce
1/3 C. brewed coffee
1 C. sugar, or sugar substitute equal to 1 C.
1 C. water
1/2 inch fresh ginger root, peeled, minced
2 cloves garlic
Cooking Instructions
Combine all ingredients in an 8-quart pot. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer over medium heat for 30 to 40 minutes. Do not stir. Keep covered and shake the pot once or twice during cooking.
