Roast Chicken With Dressing
Ingredients
6 oz. Package Stove Top Dressing
1 1/4 C. Water
1/4 C. Sauterne Wine
12 Carrots, peeled and cut into 2 inch pieces
5 pound Roasting Chicken
Salt and Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Prepare dressing according to package directions with 1 1/4 C. water. Set aside to cool. When cool, stir in sauterne. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, cook carrots in small amount of water for 5 minutes. Drain and place in crock pot. Rinse and dry chicken, stuff with the dressing. Place on top of carrots in pot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until chicken is tender. If a browner chicken is preferred, place in baking pan in 400 degree oven for about 15 minutes. Slice chicken, serve with carrots.
