Rice And Lentils
Ingredients
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. ground turmeric
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground coriander
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1 C. brown rice, uncooked
1 C. dried lentils, sorted and washed
4 C. water
Cooking Instructions
Sauté onion and garlic in oil in a large saucepan. Add spices and cook over low heat for 4 minutes. Add rice and lentils; stir to mix well. Pour in water. Bring to a boil. Turn heat to low. Cook for 45 to 50 minutes, or until rice and lentils are tender.
