Reuben Burgers
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef, extra lean
1 small onion, minced
1/2 tsp. pepper, freshly ground
4 to 8 Tbsp. sauerkraut, drained
4 slices Swiss cheese, low fat
4 slices rye bread
4 Tbsp. Russian dressing
Cooking Instructions
Mix beef, onion, and ground pepper together; form 4 patties of equal size about 3/4 inches thick. Grill or broil 4 inches from source of heat for 3 minutes on each side for medium rare. Place 1 to 2 Tbls. sauerkraut on the center of each patty; top with a 1-oz. slice of low fat Swiss cheese. Grill for 1 to 2 minutes, until cheese melts. Serve each patty open faced on a slice of toasted or grilled light rye bread. Top with each serving with 1 Tbls. Russian dressing.
