Pot Roast With Apples, Bavarian Style
Ingredients
3 pound Pot roast
1 Tbsp. Oil
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
1/8 tsp. Black pepper
1/2 tsp. Ginger, ground
3 Cloves garlic
4 medium Apples
1 medium Onion, sliced
1/2 C. Apple juice
4 Tbsp. Flour
4 Tbsp. Water
Cooking Instructions
Rub top of meat with oil. Dust with salt, pepper, and ginger. Insert cloves into meat. Core and quarter apples. Put apples and onions in bottom of crock pot. Cut roast into 2-3 pieces. Put on top of apples and onions. Add apple juice. Cook on low. Remove roast and apples. Make paste of flour and water. Add paste to liquid in crock pot and stir. Replace roast, cook on high until thickened.
