Pineapple Dream Cake 2
Ingredients
1/2 C. shortening
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 C. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 C. pineapple juice
3 eggs
1 tsp. orange flavoring
1 tsp. pineapple flavoring
Frosting
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. shortening
1/2 C. margarine
1 egg yolk
1/2 C. milk
1 tsp. orange flavoring
1 tsp. pineapple flavoring
Cooked pineapple
1 C. pineapple
1/4 C. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
Cooking Instructions
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Beat until very light and fluffy. Add flour, baking powder, and salt to creamed mixture alternately with juice. Begin with flour and end with flour. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Makes 2 9-inch layers. You Won’t Believe It Frosting: Beat these ingredients at high speed with electric mixer for exactly 15 minutes, no more or no less. Now add and mix in 2/3 C. of cooked pineapple. Frost cake. Cooked Pineapple: Put frosting in a covered dish in the refrigerator for a month. Then add the cooked mixture.
