Hong Kong Pork Chops
Ingredients
8 loin pork chops
garlic salt
2 Tbsp. oil
1 onion, thinly sliced into 8 slices
1 lemon, thinly sliced into 8 slices
1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
1/4 C. soy sauce
1/4 C. sherry wine
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 small can mushrooms, undrained
1/2 tsp. ginger
Cooking Instructions
Lightly sprinkle chops on both sides with garlic salt and brown on both sides in oil. Put chops in large baking dish. Place 1 onion slice and lemon slice on each chop; cover with water chestnuts. In small bowl combine soy sauce, sherry wine, lemon juice, mushrooms and ginger. Pour over chops; cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. To serve: Carefully remove each chop leaving onion and lemon slices in place; top with some water chestnuts. As gravy, serve soy sauce mixture with water chestnuts and mushrooms in it.
