Double Decker Durangos
Ingredients
1 (1 3/4 oz.) envelope Chili-O-Mix
2 lbs. ground beef
1 (1 lb.) can pork & beans
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
Green pepper rings, if desired
1/4 C. mayonnaise
1/4 C. water
8 to 10 hamburger buns, toasted, if desired
Cooking Instructions
Measure 2 tablespoons chili mix right from the envelope; combine with ground beef, mixing well. Shape into 16 or 20 thin patties. Combine remaining Chili-O-Mix, pork and beans, tomato paste, mayonnaise, and water in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until hot and bubbling. Grill meat patties over hot coals 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Place 1 meat patty on bottom half of each roll; add a spoonful of bean mixture, another meat patty, and another spoonful of bean mixture. Garnish with bell pepper ring, if desired. Top with remaining half of roll. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
