Ingredients

1 C. chopped dates
1 Tbsp. soda
1 C. boiling water
Combine. Let stand until cool then cream together:
1 C. sugar
1 Tbsp. butter
1 egg
1 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 C. nut meats

Cooking Instructions

Mix with date mixture. Bake in a loaf or tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
