Date Almond Coffee Bread
Ingredients
3/4 C. milk plus 2 Tbsp.
1 large egg
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. salt
3 C. bread flour
1/3 C. pitted dates; halved
1/3 C. almonds; coarse chopped, toasted
1 Tbsp. instant coffee crystals
2 tsp. bread machine yeast
Coffee icing:
1 tsp. instant coffee crystals
1 tsp. hot water
1/2 C. powdered sugar
2 tsp. milk
Cooking Instructions
Add ingredients according to manufacturer’s instructions, adding dates and almonds with flour. Basic/white bread cycle. Light color setting. Drizzle cooled loaf with Coffee Icing. Dissolve coffee crystals in hot water. Stir in powdered sugar and enough milk to make icing of drizzling consistency.
