Crusty Bread Sticks
Ingredients
1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
1 C. water
2 Tbsp. milk powder, skim
2 Tbsp. butter or olive oil
1 Tbsp. dry minced instant onion
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. sugar
2 eggs, or substitute
3 3/8 C. all purpose flour
egg white (optional)
salt (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Place all ingredients except yeast in baking pan and set for dough cycle. Place yeast in dispenser of Panasonic Bread Bakery. For other machines, add all ingredients and yeast at the time recommended for your machine. When dough is ready, remove and shape into 24 balls, which then shape into elongated rolls or bread sticks. Place on sprayed or greased cookie sheet. Allow to rise about one hour in warm place until they are almost double in size. Brush with egg white (optional) and sprinkle with a small amount of salt (optional) if desired. Bake at 375 degree for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm.
