Cranberry Orange Nut Bread
Ingredients
2 C. sifted flour
1 C. sugar
1 C. cranberries, finely chopped
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 C. nuts
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 C. shortening
3/4 C. orange juice
1 well beaten egg
Cooking Instructions
Mix all dry ingredients and cut in shortening. Combine orange peel, orange juice and egg and add to dry ingredients. Mix just to moisten. Fold in berries and nuts and turn into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Cool. Wrap and store overnight.
