Cherry Sorbet
Ingredients
1 C. water
1/3 C. sugar
1 1/2 pound cherries, pitted
1/4 C. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. cherry brandy, optional2
2 Tbsp. maraschino cherries, diced, optional
Cooking Instructions
Combine the water, sugar and pitted cherries in a non corrosive pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool. Puree the mixture in a food processor or blender and strain through a fine sieve to remove the skins. Combine this mixture with the rest of the ingredients. Freeze following the instructions for making lemon sorbet.
