California Barbecued Steak
Ingredients
1 sirloin steak, cut 2 inches thick (about 2 1/2 lbs.)
3/4 C. catsup
3/4 C. chili sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
3 Tbsp. honey
3 Tbsp. Hoisin sauce (optional)
3 Tbsp. green onions, minced
3 cloves garlic, mashed
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Cooking Instructions
Put steak in a plastic food bag. Combine catsup, chili sauce, soy sauce, honey, Hoisin sauce, green onions, garlic, salt and pepper in a small bowl; mix well. Pour mixture into bag with steak. Fasten bag securely. Place bag in a shallow pan. Let marinate in refrigerator 24 hours, turn occasionally, if possible. Lift steak out of marinade; pat with paper towel. Broil, 4 inches from heat, brushing several times with marinade, about 8 minutes on each side for rare. If grilling outdoors, grill 6 inches from grayed coals, about the same time.
