Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients
1 C. of butter
1 C. sifted powdered sugar
1/3 C. sweetened condensed milk
1 large egg white
1/4 C. sifted powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 C. powdered sugar
Cooking Instructions
Using a clean bowl and beater, whip the egg white until stiff while adding the 1/4 C. powdered sugar slowly. In another mixing bowl, add the butter and 1 C. of powdered sugar; mix at low speed to obtain smooth paste. Whip at medium speed, adding the milk slowly and gradually until light and fluffy. Mix the meringue slowly into the above buttered mixture. Add vanilla, salt and remaining 1/4 C. powdered sugar. This last amount of sugar can be doubled if stiffer icing is desired.
