British Flapjacks
Ingredients
3/4 C. butter or margarine, melted
3/4 C. sugar
1/4 C. honey
1 lg. egg
4 C. regular rolled oats
1 C. coarsely chopped hazelnuts
1/2 C. raisins
Cooking Instructions
In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, honey, egg, oats, nuts and raisins. Pat mixture firmly into a buttered and floured 9-inch square pan. Bake in a 300 degree oven until deep golden, 50-55 minutes. Cut into 16 pieces, then let cool in pan. Redo cuts and remove from pan with a spatula. Serve or store airtight up to 5 days; freeze to store longer. Makes 16.
