Winter Rose Cake
Ingredients
1 1/2 C. sugar
4 egg whites
1/2 C. shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
Dash salt
2 1/4 C. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
1 C. milk
Toasted coconut
Cooking Instructions
Beat whites in bowl until stiff then set aside. Cream together sugar and shortening, and salt. Add milk and vanilla. Gradually add flour and baking powder. Gently fold in egg whites. Turn into favorite cake pan greased floured. Bake at 350 until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool. Put on favorite white icing. Sprinkle with toasted coconut. (Can toast coconut on sheet after cake is done while oven is until hot).
