Ingredients

1/2 C. shortening
2 C. sugar
2 egg whites
1 tsp. baking powder
2 C. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 3/4 C. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring

Cooking Instructions

Cream together shortening and sugar; mix in egg whites. Sift dry ingredients together; mix buttermilk, vanilla and almond flavoring. Add 2 mixtures alternately to egg white mixture. Spread in 15 x 11 inch jellyroll pan. Bake at 350 degrees, for 25 minutes. Frost as desired.
