Tamale Pie
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
3/4 C. yellow corn meal
1 1/2 C. milk
1 egg beaten
1 package chili seasoning mix
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1 can tomatoes-16 oz. cut up
1 can whole kernel corn-16 oz. drained
1 can sliced ripe olives (2 1/4 oz.) drained
1 C. grated Cheddar cheese
Cooking Instructions
In skillet or slow cooking pot with browning unit, cook meat until crumbly. Drain. In large bowl mix corn meal, milk, egg. Add drained meat, dry chili seasoning mix, seasoned salt and tomatoes, corn and olives. Pour into slow cooking pot. Cover and cook on high 3 to 4 hours. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cover and cook for 5 more minutes.
