Pork Hawaiian
Ingredients
2 pound. pork or beef
2 tsp. bouquet sauce (browning sauce)
1 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 C. salad oil
1 can pineapple chunks
1 can sliced mushrooms
1 jar sweet gherkins, cut in thirds
2 tsp. salt
2 green peppers, cut thin(strips)
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 C. water
Cooking Instructions
Place meat cubes in bowl and sprinkle with browning sauce and ginger; toss lightly until meat is well coated. Brown in electric fry pan. Drain pineapple juice, 1/2 C. pickle juice, mushroom broth and enough water to make 2 C. liquid. Add salt. Add to meat; simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until meat is tender. Add pineapple, pickles, mushrooms and green pepper. Blend together cornstarch and water. Add gradually to meat mixture; stir until thickened. Serve over rice. (Leftover meat can be used.)
