Oatmeal Chocolate Toffee Cake
Ingredients
1 3/4 C. boiling water
1 C. oatmeal
1 C. brown sugar, lightly packed
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. cocoa
2 C. almond toffee, finely chopped
3/4 C. nuts
Cooking Instructions
Pour the boiling water over oatmeal; let stand at room temperature 10 minutes. Add sugars plus butter; stir until melted. Add eggs; mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt plus cocoa; add to sugar mixture; beat well. And 1/2 of toffee crumbs. Pour batter into greased plus floured 9×13-inch pan. Sprinkle with remaining toffee plus nuts. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
