Fried Cabbage
Ingredients
1 head cabbage, finely shredded
1 C. bacon drippings
1 C. boiling water
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 hot red pepper pod
salt to taste
1 to 2 Tbsp. vinegar, or to taste
Cooking Instructions
Place all the ingredients, except the vinegar in a heavy skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is lightly browned and crisp-tender. Just before serving, add the vinegar. Serves 6.
