Ingredients

2 C. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 pound seeded raisins
2 C. cold water
Add
3 C. flour
1 tsp. soda
Pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cherries and nuts
1 mixed dried peel (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Boil and stir for 5 minutes the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, shortening, raisins and water. Let cool and then add the remaining ingredients. Next pour into large well greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 375 for 1 1/2 hours.
