Cinnamon Swirl
Ingredients
1/2 C. shortening
1 C. white sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 C. water
2 C. white flour
Filling and topping:
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. white sugar
Cooking Instructions
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add the rest of the ingredients in order and mix till well combined. Combine sugar and cinnamon and mix. Grease and flour a loaf tin. Divide batter into thirds. Layer one third of the batter in the bottom of the loaf pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Layer with another third of the batter and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar. Spread out last part of the batter. Slice through the batter at various points with a knife to create the marbled effect. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon/sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until the loaf tests done.
