Chocolate Oatmeal Cake
Ingredients
1 C. rolled oats, uncooked
1-1/2 C. boiling water
1/2 C. shortening
1-1/2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 C. flour, sifted
1/2 C. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Cooking Instructions
Mix rolled oats and boiling water together and let cool. Cream shortening with sugar and eggs. Add oatmeal mixture along with flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Bake in 8 x 12 inch greased pan at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
