Cheese Hamburger Roll
Ingredients
1/4 C. chopped onion
3 C. toasted bread crumbs
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. sage
1 1/4 C. grated sharp processed cheese
Cooking Instructions
Simmer onion in 1/3 C. boiling water for 5 minutes. Pour all over bread. Combine meat, egg, seasonings and pat out into a 14″x8″ rectangle on waxed paper. Spread bread mixture over meat mixture, sprinkle with 1 C. of the cheese. Roll as you would for a jelly roll using the waxed paper to help. Place in a bread pan, bake at 350º for about 70 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and put back into the oven until cheese melts.
