Apples
Ingredients
8 tart apples peeled, sliced
1 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 C. milk
2 Tbsp. soft butter or margarine
3/4 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 C. Bisquick
Topping:
1 C. Bisquick
1/3 C. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. cold butter or margarine
1/2 C. sliced nuts
Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
Cooking Instructions
In a large bowl toss apples with cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Place in a large 4 to 6 quart greased crock pot. In another bowl, combine milk, butter or margarine, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and 1/2 C. Bisquick. Spoon over apples. In another bowl, combine 1 C. Bisquick and brown sugar. Cut in margarine until crumbly. Add nuts. Sprinkle the streusel topping over the apples in the crock pot. Cover and cook on low 6 to 7 hours or until the apples are tender. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
