Ingredients

1 C. shortening
2 C. white granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 1/2 C. flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. raisins
1 C. chopped pecans
2 C. hot applesauce

Cooking Instructions

Mix together the shortening, sugar, and eggs. Sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices together. Add to liquid mixture. Blend well. Fold in raisins and nuts. Add hot applesauce. Blend thoroughly. Pour in prepared 10 inch round pan 3 inch deep. Bake in 350 oven for 45 minutes or until done.
