Apple Pan Cake
Ingredients
1 can apple pie filling
2 C. flour
1 C. sugar
1-1/2 tsp. soda
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 C. oil or melted shortening
3/4 C. nutmeats, chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
Topping:
1 C. sugar
1/2 C. sour cream
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cooking Instructions
Spread filling in 13 x 9 inch pan. Combine flour, sugar, soda and salt. Sprinkle over filling. In bowl beat eggs, add vanilla, oil and nuts. Pour over ingredients in pan. Stir only until blended and smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. While hot, prick with fork all over and add topping. Topping: Boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly and pour over cake. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
