Black Walnut Chocolate Pound Cake
Ingredients
1/4 C. shortening
1 C. butter
3 C. sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
5 Tbsp. cocoa
3 C. flour
Cooking Instructions
Cream shortening, butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Sift together salt, baking powder, cocoa and flour. Add alternately with 1 C. sweet milk. Then add 1 C. black walnuts or pecans. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Check at 1 hour. Cover after 10 minutes cooling, or put in a cake box. Ice if desired.
