Barbecued Spareribs
Ingredients
6 lbs. spareribs
Boiling salted water
1 onion, studded with cloves
1 tsp. rosemary
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. marjoram
1 tsp. oregano
BARBECUE SAUCE:
1 C. catsup
1/3 C. molasses
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. onion powder
Cooking Instructions
Cut spareribs into generous serving pieces. Cover with boiling salted water and add onion and herbs. Bring to boil and simmer just until tender, about 50 minutes. Drain and place meat in a shallow pan. Combine and mix well barbecue sauce ingredients; pour over meat and let stand in refrigerator until ready to barbecue. Grill over hot coals or bake in a 350 degree oven, basting frequently with sauce until ribs are browned and glazed, 1/2 to 3/4 hour. 6 servings.
