Apple Dilly Cake
Ingredients
1/2 C. butter
1 C. sugar
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2 C. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 C. walnuts, chopped
1 C. raisins
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 C. cold coffee or 1 Tbsp. instant coffee & 1/2 C. water
1 C. apple, coarsely chopped
Cooking Instructions
Cream butter and sugar; add egg. Sift dry ingredients. Add alternately with liquid. Stir in apples, nuts and raisins. Turn in well greased and floured 11 x 7 1/2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 35 minutes. Cool thoroughly in pan. Keeps well and improves.
