Strawberry Shortcut Cake
Ingredients
1 C. miniature marshmallows
Two 10-ounce packages frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
3 ounce package strawberry gelatin
2-1/4 C. flour
1-1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. shortening
3 tsp. baking powdered
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
Cooking Instructions
Generously greased bottom only of a 9×13 pan. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan. Combine thawed strawberries and juice with gelatin and set aside. Measure the flour into large mixing bowl then add all other ingredients. Mix until moistened, beat with electric mixer for 3 minutes, scraping sides of bowl. Pour batter evenly over marshmallows in pan. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or whipped cream.
