Best Oven Fried Chicken
Ingredients
1 C. bread crumbs
1/4 C. parmesan cheese
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. minced fresh thyme
1/2 tsp. minced fresh oregano
1 tsp. minced fresh basil
2 tsp. paprika
salt and pepper, fresh ground, to taste
2 eggs
2 egg whites
1 tsp. hot pepper sauce
1-1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, halved
3 Tbsp. olive oil
Cooking Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and spices in a plastic bag. In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs and egg whites. Add the hot pepper sauce. Dip each chicken breast into beaten eggs. Roll in the breadcrumb mixture. Spread the chicken breasts out on a cookie sheet. Drizzle olive oil on each chicken breast. Bake the chicken for 30 to 35 minutes until no traces of pink remain.
