Spiced Apple And Cranberry Compote
Ingredients
1 package dried apples (6 oz.)
1/2 C. dried cranberries (2 oz.)
2 1/2 C. cranberry juice cocktail
1/2 C. Rhine wine or apple juice
1/2 C. honey
2 cinnamon sticks broken into halves
Frozen yogurt or ice cream optional
Additional cinnamon sticks optional
Cooking Instructions
Mix apples, cranberries, juice, wine, honey, and cinnamon stick halves in crock pot. Cover and cook on low 4 to 5 hours or until liquid is absorbed and fruit is tender. Remove and discard cinnamon stick halves. Ladle compote into bowls. Serve warm, at room temperature or chilled with scoop of frozen yogurt. Garnish with additional cinnamon sticks, if desired.
