Old Fashioned Chocolate Fudge Cake
Ingredients
2 C. flour
2 C. sugar
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 C. cocoa
1/2 C. oil
1 C. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
3 tsp. vanilla
3/4 C. hot water
4 Tbsp. cocoa
6 Tbsp. milk
1 stick butter
1 box (1 pound) powdered sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1 C. chopped pecans
Cooking Instructions
Sift together the flour, sugar, soda, salt, and cocoa. Add oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and hot water; mix well. Bake in greased 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 for 30-40 minutes. For icing, make a paste of the cocoa and milk in a saucepan. Add butter and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat and then add pecans. Pour over still hot cake in baking pan.
