Ingredients

1 C. dates, chopped
7-ounces lemon lime soda
1 tsp. baking soda
1 C. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1 egg
1 1/2 C. flour
1/2 C. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt

Cooking Instructions

Bring dates and soda to a boil in a saucepan, add baking soda and set aside to cool. Add remaining ingredients, beat very well, and pour into a loaf pan and bake one hour in a 350 oven. Serve with whipped cream.
