Sugared Bacon
Ingredients
1 lb. regular sliced good bacon
1 1/2 C. brown sugar
Honey mustard or cinnamon
Cooking Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut each slice of bacon into thirds. Place brown sugar (mix cinnamon in if using it) in a bowl. If using honey mustard spread one side of bacon with it and then coat each side thoroughly with brown sugar. If using brown sugar and cinnamon mixed coat each slice on both sides with it. Pam a jelly roll or broiler pan with a rack and place the bacon close together on it. Bake until bacon is crisp and sugar is bubbly, about 20-30 minutes. Watch closely as the sugar will burn quickly. Place on wax paper to cool. These are messy to make, but well worth the effort. I have made them days ahead and stored in the refrigerator and then heated a little to bring them to room temperature. They also freeze well, but do become a little sticky.
