Raisin Filled Cake
Ingredients
Filling
1 pound raisins
1 C. sugar
2 C. water
2 Tbsp. flour
1 C. nuts (optional)
Cake
4 C. flour
2 C. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 C. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Cooking Instructions
Filling: Cook raisins, sugar, water and flour, after mixing flour with cold water and partially cool. Cake: Mix flour, brown sugar, soda and salt. Cut in shortening. Add beaten eggs and vanilla. In a greased and floured 9″ x 13″ cake pan, put half the mixture and spread over bottom. Spread filling over; add other half of cake mixture on top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
