Devil Dump Cake
Ingredients
1 C. sugar
1-1/2 C. sifted flour
1/2 C. melted shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 C. sour milk
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 egg yolks (save whites for frosting)
1 whole egg
Frosting:
2 egg whites
1/2 C. sugar
5 Tbsp. water
10 marshmallows – sliced
1 tsp. vanilla
Cooking Instructions
Place all ingredients in a bowl and beat until light and creamy. Bake in two layers at 350 until top of cake springs back. Frosting: Put egg whites, sugar and water in a double boiler. Beat and cook until mixture holds its shape. Remove from heat and beat marshmallows and vanilla into it. Spread on cake.
