Date Beer Cake
Ingredients
1 C. butter or margarine
2 C. brown sugar; packed
2 eggs
2 1/2 C. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cloves; ground
2 C. beer
2 C. dates; coarsely chopped
1/2 C. flour
1 C. pecans; quartered
Cooking Instructions
Beat first 9 ingredients well with electric mixer. Mix dates with 1/2 C. flour. Stir dates and pecans into batter. Bake in greased angel food cake pan for 60 to 65 minutes at 350. Cool. Serve with whipped cream or frost top with cream cheese frosting.
