Awesome Onion Board
Ingredients
Bread
1 Tbsp. yeast
3 C. flour
1/2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. oil
1 C. water; warm
Topping
2 large onions; chopped
2 Tbsp. butter
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1/4 C. cheddar cheese , shredded
1/3 C. cheese, Romano, grated
cornmeal
Cooking Instructions
Pour bread ingredients into bread maker. Select “white bread” and “dough” cycle and start machine. Sauté onions in butter and oil in iron skillet over medium-low heat. Cover the onions, and let them steam until transparent (about 10 minutes). Set aside to cool. When machine beeps, remove dough and roll it 1/2 inch thick into 14 inch x10 inch rectangle. Transfer it to oiled baking sheet sprinkled with cornmeal. Let rise 90 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spread onions over dough. Sprinkle with cheeses. Bake 20 minutes, until done.
