Apple And Pear Cobbler
Ingredients
8 – 12 apples
2 C. apple juice
1 stick margarine
Cinnamon
15 Hungry Jack biscuits (may substitute cake mix)
2 cans pears
2 1/2 C. brown sugar
Cinnamon red hots
Cooking Instructions
Slice apples and place in 10 inch Dutch oven or equivalent size pan. Add 1 cup of apple juice, 1/2 stick of margarine divided equally, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, pears and some cinnamon. Place biscuits on top of apples; pour over biscuits 1 cup apple juice, remaining margarine; sprinkle 1 cup of brown sugar on top, sprinkle more cinnamon on top and place 1 to 3 red hots on the top of each biscuit (this is mainly to add color). Place over coals or in oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Take out and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Will have 10 to 13 5 ounce servings.
